Need a holster for a Lady
I have been shooting IDPA for a few months now. Everytime I go to a match my GF goes to watch. She wants to try her hand at it too. I now have 2 Comp-Tac paddles. The problem for her is her hips. With my 1911, the paddles tend pull the grip in to much for a good draw/grip for her. I need a suggestion on what type of holster (like the comp-tac) fixes this problem for her.
Thank You
David

Re: Need a holster for a Lady
OWB is more comfortable for me - I have one I plan on using if/when I get ready to shoot IDPA. For routine carry, I use an IWB. or smartcarry.
There is a company who makes holsters that are supposed to mold better around women's curves - FIST holsters. The model is called "Lady Fist". I haven't tried it, but it looks interesting. I am posting from my blackberry, so - can't get to the link.

Target1911
I have been shooting IDPA for several years and am working on my 5 gun Expert award (have three of them so far). I use Comp-tac's diva. It is a locking paddle with an offset. The offset cants the gun out away from my ribs. This allows me to grip and draw my gun without bending to the side at the waist.
It is very comfortable and I have used it for regular carry as well.
If you are in the Houston area I would be glad to meet with you and your lady to try the holster. I am in the North Houston area. PM me if you are interested or would like to talk to me or if your lady would like to talk to me.

CompVest,
What gun do you use with the diva comp-tac? Was the Diva a special order? I can't find it on their site.
Do you just use it for competiton or every day carry too? I am looking for something to use IWB for a colt defender for every day carry. I have a leather Don Hume slide OWB that keeps it out of my ribs (I wear it at about 2 o'clock) but I have to use a long cover garment to keep it concealed.
Sorry for so many questions and for hijacking this thread.

I also could not find that holster. Could you provide a link to it for all of us?
Thank You very much for the offer. That is very kind of you. However, I live in Ft Worth and I have no plans on going to Houston. If you are in the Houston area I would be glad to meet with you and your lady to try the holster. I am in the North Houston area. Re: Need a holster for a Lady
I can't decide if I want to shoot IDPA, but I've been scoping out holsters just in case, so I'm glad you started this thread! I'm really most interested in something I can use for every day concealment. If it happens to work for competiton, that would be an added bonus.
I found a recommendation on another board for women's holster - for a Blade Tech Drop & Offset Holster. It sounds like it's constructed similar to the comp-tac Diva.

Re: Need a holster for a Lady
I don't think Comp-tac post it on their site anymore. When you place an order or if you contact Comp-tac (either by phone or email) ask about it. Please, feel free to mention my name. JB, Josh, or Randy will know what you are asking about. (If you do not know my name send me a PM)
I do occassionally use my conpetitive rig for carry. Not often as I do not regularily carry in a holster.
The diva locking paddle is on OSW holster.
I have an older Blade Tech for one of my revolvers. It is a very nice comfy holster. That said I have had reason to become familiar with their current product and their quality has dropped a lot! I do not believe I would buy another from Blade Tech.

Re: Need a holster for a Lady
I do have a Locking Paddle. I does set out a little further (about a half inch) than the regular paddle. I had her try it out and she can draw much better than from mine. It doesnt pull the gun into her ribs as bad. I would like to find one that is better made for her hips tho. I will contact Comp-tac.

The regular locking paddle Comp-tac makes does not have as much offset as the Diva.
