I am looking for an outside waist band (belt) holster for my new full size .40 caliber P99 AS. I've done a thorough search of this site and others and have settled on a black or dark stamped leather pancake-style design for my every day carry. My main concerns with the choice I make will be comfort, safety, slide wear and turn around time. Here is a list of the holsters that I have found via this site and others that I believe would be a good fit for my weapon and I:
LINK - Haugen Body Guard
LINK - Tucker Pancake
LINK - Milt Sparks I-BAK
LINK - UBG Bonneville
LINK - High Noon Slide Guard
LINK - Sesanti Speedscabbard
I would appreciate any and all feedback on these products or even links to similar products. As stated, I am pretty much set on a stamped leather pancake design and am looking for something that will have at most six weeks turnaround time... which pretty much eliminates the Tucker and Milt Sparks and Bulman choices. At this point I believe the UGB Bonneville is my front runner but I'm still open for suggestions and opinions. I'd like to make my purchase within the next week which should give me about two months turnaround time before the plastic lands in my hand from the DPS.
Thanks!

Re: .40 P99AS OWB Dark Leather Holster
Well, after some long thought and a recommendation from some people at the Walther Forums I purchased a #7 Dropped Front Basic from Fist, Inc... which wasn't in my original list. I'll post my thoughts and a review on it after I receive it.

Re: .40 P99AS OWB Dark Leather Holster
Brad,
Sorry I missed this last night. That is a pretty good lookin holster even though I have not owned or worn one.
Out of the ones you listed the 6 week lead time probably would only fit the DeSantis & Highnoon. I had a DeSantis speed Scabbard for a revolver on time & did not like it.
The Sparks & Tucker are excellent gear but will be 5-6 months.
UBG is about 6 weeks behind now. A yr ago you could get one of his holsters in 2 weeks from order. I was looking at his web page this morning. He is fast becoming as reputable as some of the big names. I think he does really good work.
My .02cents & some think it worth about half that.

Re: .40 P99AS OWB Dark Leather Holster
Thanks for the response. I've read nothing but good things about UBG and I feel he is getting up there with the "big guys" as well. I went ahead and ordered through Fist after I emailed them and was assured they'd have no problems getting it to me on-time. I'm taking my CHL course Saturday so I am looking two months out for plastic in hand, but I'd like to get comfortable wearing my rig around the house and to and from the car a few times before I make my wally walk... I'd like to of course run plenty of safety dry runs using snap caps and such so I can get comfortable walking around with one in the chamber on a P99AS with no hard "safety"... I know the P99 is completely safe with one in the chamber, I just want to get the feel for peace of mind more than anything.
I'll post some feedback on my purchase as soon as it arrives.
