Houston Boat Show + CHL?

Post by chlluvr »

I am going to go to the Houston Boat Show over the weekend, and am unsure if it is OK to carry there. The show is at Reliant Arena and in my opinion is not considered a "sporting event" so unless they have 30.06 posted I should be able to carry. Right? Has anyone been to the Houston Boat Show this year that can confirm if you can or can't carry? Any help or previouse experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks........................ :coolgleamA:

A boat show is not a professional sporting event. I have no idea if Relient Center is posted.

It looks like they prohibit weapons: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#b11

Isn't Reliant Park owned by the city of Houston?

What has the ATF to do with Reliant boat show?

Reliant is owned by the Houston Sports Authority, a government entity.

I do not recall 30.06 signs, might be some no Beretta signs, but I pack when I go to shows there.

The correct URL is http://www.reliantpark.com/en/cms/?97. (The ATF FAQ was in accidental mistake. I had it on my clipboard from an earlier message that I composed.)

It's owned by Harris County.

Reliant has a NO GUNS ALLOWED sign on glass above your head when you enter the hall. Its non compliant and only visable if you are a 14ft tall or are looking up . I carry during all events in the Hall. :coolgleamA:

Last time I was there on Disney on Ice :coolgleamA: I have not seen any 30.06 signs at all. However I did not carry it in but left it in my car. If they want to prevent you as a CHL holder to not carry on their property they must post the proper sign. Next time I go there I will carry it in. Anybody knows if there's a 30.06 at Toyota Center? Their WEB site says the same as Reliant's.

Thanks again for the replies guys. I went to the boat show and carried inside. There are no 30.06 signs just a list of don'ts above the door. As fa as Toyota Cntr. I do not recal seeing any there either, just don't forget the sporting event thing. Thanks again for all the help! :txflag:

Not a place or event that I would go to but if there w/ a friend then they would sure have to send me away & I would stay "away" as long as the friends wanted to be at the boat show. :tiphat:
