Virginia Tech Shooting and Governor Perry's change to CHL

Post by jvanwink »

Shorty after Virginia Tech's shooting incident, Governor Perry said that he was going to change Carry rules on college campus'. Was this political bull or has anything happened?

IIRC, Perry stated his OPINION after the legislature had adjourned and nothing could be done until 2009.

I'd like to think he wasn't making the statement only because he knew it was too late.

I work at a Dallas University...and our Employee weapons policy hasnt even been REVISED since 1994. Its a basic blanket policy, covering every "what if" scenario. Per the letter of the policy, you could get terminated for having a standard pocket knife. Hell, it even goes as far as to ban "lasertag, "paint marker games" and Dungeons and Dragons. "rlol"

I sure hope more happens, in a faster manner...I'd sure feel silly if a shooter scenario happened here, and I have to leave my potentially life-saving tools 200yd and downstairs from my office.
