Maxpedition Gear

Post by Tactical_Texan_CHL »

Has anyone ever carried in Maxpedition Gear? I came across a table at a gunshow carrying the stuff, and it looked so good, I had to by the jumbo pack. It's a small bag, worn over the head and one shoulder. While travelling, I can upgrade from the small Glock 30 I carry IWB, and have a full sized whatever handy. I lock it up in my mounted gun safe when not carrying. It started out as an idea for camping, hiking or 4-wheeler riding where guns are acceptable, but not really something I want in the open, and I don't want to only have the G30 IWB on me. I usually have a .30-.30 Winchester 94 in the gunrack on the 4-wheeler also, but the bag is really nice. It will also hold a liter bottle of water, my GPS unit, cell phone, and a number of other junk I carry with me while on a short hiking trip. I recently even carried it with us while wandering around town on a trip. I had alot of the paraphenalia one carries while vacationing with little kids, plus in the secure back pouch, I had a full size Glock 17 with ALOT of 124gr +P+ Gold Dots. My wife jokingly called it a man purse, so it does have some down sides to it!! But it's the MANLIEST man purse ever!!!

Maxpedition gear is excellent. I also have a Jumbo Versipack, and I proudly carry that man-purse as my work bag every day.
I occasionally carry either my Glock19 or G30 in the concealment compartment of the bag. You'll want to buy the universal holster that attaches to the velcro on the inside of the compartment. I have the universal holster in there, plus a two loop mag carrier, which I use to hold a knife and flashlight.

I have the holster, but not the mag holder. I need that. I really wish they made a laptop case big enough for a 17" laptop. I'd love to be able to use a Maxpedition bag for my briiefcase/laptop bag. For that matter, I'd take BlackHawk, or SpecOps too. I'm never happy with the stuff from Office Depot.

Maybe all you ladies could get together and do a purse swap some time! :biggrinjester:

Kidding aside...those seem to be good products on their website and especially with the kids, you can't get around the inevitability of haulin' their stuff too.

Ha ha, he he, ho ho! If I wanted this kind of abuse, I'd go back to AR15.com! Just kidding, you guys are funny. It really has turned out to be handier than I thought it would too. Like I said. It started out as a nice little hiking and outdoors bag and turned into my work bag.

I use a Maxped Fatboy S for carry when other methods are not suitable. Just enough room for a Jframe snubbie and its holster in that back pocket.

i just got the Maxpedition FatBoy in the mail today. i like it. it carries a lot of stuff(including my 1911) without looking like you're carrying a briefcase around.

I too have a Jumbo Versipack that I've just recently started keeping in the car for my commute. I have my G19 in the universal holster and also the 3 mag holder. I haven't been able to get the mag holder oriented in the right spot yet. The pack overall is very sturdy and has a lot of room and some expandability options. I've made mine into a BoB extension, so it's got a knife, G2 nitrolon flashlight, medkit, water bottle (w/ filter), multitool, energy bars etc. I keep it with me on the way to work and then lock it in the trunk when I get to the parking lot. They recently did some work on the access gates (which previously had a properly-posted 30.06 sign) and when it was completed the sign never was posted again. :reddevil

I highly recommend picking up any of the Maxpedition stuff.

Good luck!

Hehe! That sure works in your favor, Rug! :thumbs2: Glad you guys like the Maxpedition stuff. It's great for taking a spare gun on a trip, too. When I travel, I have the G30 on me, and I carry my G21 SF in the bag with a few extra big mags.
