NEW Leather Holster

Post by dpatterson »

Got my new leather belt slide holster today.... Got a question... Should this thing be tight enough to hold upside down and gently shake without the gun falling out or am I just in the buyer remorse stage? : )

Any help would be great...

This is a link to the holster that I picked up for my SIG Pro 2340...

For an OWB holster - I would certainly want it to be that tight. Although it might tighten up a bit when you are actually wearing it and that solves everything...

Don't forget, the retention on a belt slide will often be different while you're wearing it than it will be when it's not even on your belt, or even when it's on your belt but you're not buckled up.

dp, I started out checking my retention that way. After I put it on then I could hardly get it out. (Read the one Charles did some time ago about the 2nd rule of gunfighting. Be able to get it out of your holster) :smilelol5: It is really funny since nothing happened. Come over today if you wnat. We will play a little in the garage & loading room. I would like to see it. Welcome back from the big city.

I got an Artoonian holster and belt in late 1998 and I still use it. The holster will last, but I am sure Andy will make it write if you have any problems with it.
