Collin County Instructors?
Well gentlemen, I turn 21 in less than one week... anyone have recommendations on where to take my CHL instruction class? I'm in Collin County.
Thanks!

The Bullet Trap in Plano has classes http://www.bullettrapinc.com/services.htm#classes
I live in Collin County, but went over to Roanoke to one of our forum members class http://www.geocities.com/LLWatson/
I really enjoyed Linda and Marty's class, even though it was in August and about 105° on the range!!!

Well, I guarantee it won't be 105 in March!

Re: Collin County Instructors?
If you HAVE to stay in Collin County for some reason, I highly recommend Larry Bartek. He is a Detective Seargeant for Plano PD and holds his classes at the party barn on Restaraunt Row. He does it in the evenings to accomodate people who work. He is an International Class shooter in Rifle, I think LEO specific events. He is a Glock Armorer and knows his way around just about everything.
He does the prints, paperwork and photos on site the first day of class. I think he is charging 125 these days.
One of the unique aspects I have seen with him is that he lines everyone up and goes over handgun safety and basic operation of a pistol. No drawing from a holster or anything, but about an hour of dry fire.
Shooting portion is help on a Sunday I think at Elm Fork at Loop 12 and Luna Road on the police range.
He is a huge supporter of CHL and enjoys seeing people enable themselves to protect themselves.
Linda is awesome too, just kinda far from Collin and I think I am the only one crazy enough to drive down there.

Go to http://www.ccidpa.com scroll down to local training.
I know a few of the guys there and they are TOP NOTCH. I can promise you that your class will NOT be boring at all if you go to them. They are a funny and GREAT group....and they can get you set up with IDPA too.
Happy B-Day and thank you for taking your safety into your own hands. Stay Armed

Re: Collin County Instructors?
there is a guy in Wylie that is pretty "no frills"
one day service. you will have to find a Wylie newspaper to get his name.
he is the only one in that paper with an advertisement.
"get it done" kinda guy.

Re: Collin County Instructors?
Just out of curiousity - do you have to be 21 to take the class?
Re: Collin County Instructors?
You do NOT have to be 21 to take the class. You just have to be 21 to send in the application. Or 18 if active duty military or honorably discharged.
