Now we get to see...

...if pre-registering on the web (and receiving my PIN) before taking the class & sending in the final paperwork makes that ~60 day window any shorter. DPS got my Priority Mail package this morning, so the clock has started!

Lobo73 has got me worried that I may have forgotten to sign that web form (like him, I was the only one of ~50 in my class who had the pre-registration web form), so I'm crossing my fingers until I get home so I can check my copies. :frown5:

EDIT: double-checked, and it's signed and good to go - whew! :thumbs2:

I can't see that pre-registering gets you anything, but lighter in the wallet faster. Still took me 52 days to find out about my error which has now been rectified. Yet, I've waited another 8 days for my status to be updated from that point. Sent one email with no response. Am thinking I won't see a license till mid April. If that's the case, would be about 107 days! That would kinda blow a whole in the 60 Day window :grumble

Everyone should photocopy every page of their CHL application before they mail it in! This way you have proof of what you sent to the dps. The web form that needs to signed is page 4 on the application with your info that they mail to you.

DITTO

The web form is just the written form of what you inputed when you pre-registered online that DPS sends you back with penal code book and blanks forms to be completed when you take your class. It takes the place of the yellow form you receive at class for those applicants that did not pre-register. However, do not forget to sign the last page (page 4) which I guess is verfication of information inputed.

By the way, I'm at 69 days from the date DPS signed receipt of my initial application. Only 21 days to be under the 90 day window? Plus xx days for USPS to deliver the plastic.
