I have a possibly silly question. I received my plastic in the mail this past Saturday (2/23). This morning (Tuesday 2/26), just out of curiosity, I checked the DPS website to see how it reads regarding my CHL status. The website reads "Processing Application."
Is my license valid, and it is merely a case of the DPS not having yet updated the website, or should I wait and see what happens online before carrying?

Yes, you are legal. Things that happen to the website are not always logical. You might look at it again in a month and it could say something similar to "No application or license active". Don't freak, that's a default setting...

They stay behind a lot so as long as you have plastic you are legal & good to go to your Wally Walk and beyond.

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Re: Horns of a Dilemma...
The DPS web site has no legal meaning. It's not mentioned in the CHL law. The plastic is all that counts.
I am practically convinced that the web site is maintained overseas, probably in India. I say that because people have found it was updated between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Re: Horns of a Dilemma...
Interestingly, since I've now had my plastic for a grand total of 28 days, I just went back and checked the website again to see if they had updated it.
Now it says "No application or license/certificate active."
Well, I have an active license, so I would sure like to know what in tarnation that means...

Parse it this way:
(Either) No application; (OR) license/certificate active
You no longer have a current application in process, therefore your license is active!

And who said punctuation marks were not important.

Thanks for explaining it. I was going to ignore it anyway, since I have the plastic in my hand, but I just thought they were being stupid.
If proper punctuation is any indicator, then I was right!
