I'm not getting a check. I'm in that bracket where the government takes and never gives back. Well, somebody's gotta pay for all these checks, I guess.

I actually put my welfare check toward the purchase of a 17" MacBook Pro laptop for my business.

Don't know if I get one or not.

I had understood that you had to have earned income to qualify.

But Turbotax says I should get one, anyway.

I'm using it to get one month ahead on my mortgage. Then, I I will pay half my mortgage amount every two weeks so I'm always one month and two weeks ahead.

It should knock several years and lots of $$ off my total mortgage cost.

Not as exciting as a new weapon but, oh well. I'll get them later.

Gotta actually get it, first. :grumble

According to the IRS's own schedule, based on the primary SSN on our taxes, we should have gotten the direct deposit the week before Mothers' Day.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Two options actually; some of it is going to purchase a Mossberg HD shotgun, while the rest will pay down the evil credit card.

Remember the "rebate" during W's first term? We were supposed to get that one, also, and it never showed up. We had a major hassle getting the IRS to understand that they really couldn't tax us on an amount that we never received. They said we did; we said, "Show us the canceled check with our signatures, and we'll pay the taxes." In fact, out of all the folks I talked with that year, I only knew one person who actually received anything.

I ain't holding my breath on this one, either.
