My 60 days were eaten up just waiting for my PIN!

Sorry if that is depressing news but I expect to wait another 60 days for the plastic - if it ever shows. When I called DPS they informed me they have 180 days in all to diddle with an application.

You should have known about the time frame possibilities from your CHL class or from reading your manual.

Unless you were VERY strange in your past - they have 60 (90 from a typo) days from receipt of your materials to get you the plastic. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to get a PIN, but you have to have plastic in 60 days per the law. Otherwise they are in violation, but there is no penalty.

Don't go yelling at the CHL department just yet, but don't let them off the hook either.
