I know this sounds insane...can I put a hold on my CHL?

Post by aggiedave05 »

OK...so I have been waiting forever. I did the online ap so I've had my pin since December. I took the course in January and got around to mailing it in early February. The Office shows a received date of 2/22/08. So...we're past 60 days already and I contacted them week ago and was informed there were no issues (i.e. fingerprints).

Now here's the funny part. I've been waiting so LONG I am about to move. I'd just as well wait another month till I know my new address (purchasing a home) at which time I can avoid the hassle and I believe $50+ of getting a new license with this address.

Anyone done this or have any insight on why so many from my timeframe are done and mine is still "Processing"

yup, insane. but if you know you're insane, are you really insane? I digress...

I believe I saw Charles mention in a similar thread that if you call DPS and tell them the new address before they activate your license, they can change it with no delays. However, I would think asking them to table your application until you know the address would probably throw a kink in an already broken process (as of late). I'm sure you could request it, but you better be sure they won't mess anything up "untabling" you.

Good luck though, and if you do decide to request tabling, let us know how it goes for future reference.

After doing some more research...looks like it's only $25.

That being said...is there anything I can do to move things along? This seems crazy to me as I've easily passed 90 day mark. Definitely 60 days since they acknowledge receipt.

It seems like the early Feb submitters have been getting theirs in the last couple weeks, so I would think if the logic holds that you only have a week or two more. The longest I remember hearing about on here was 110 days. I'm just happy my out of state is recognized by TX while I wait. Just hang in there.
