First weekend with plastic...

Post by arod757 »

... was totally uneventful, just like I'm sure it will almost always be.

Lot's of errands to Best Buy, Target, bunch of shoe stores for my daughter, Rolling Oaks Mall, video store, Wally-World, and a couple of restaurants to eat.

Didn't notice any 30.06 signs anywhere. Self-consciousness went away after a little while. It helps when you have a supportive wife also. She asked me if I wanted her to stay on my right side while walking to help with concealment. Told her that was a great idea, even though I don't think it's necessary. I'm lucky in that she's also comforted by my carrying for any "hope it never happens" moments.

I have to say that the best part of my rig, other than my Glock 19, of course, has got to be my new belt by "The Beltman." It came in a couple of days before my plastic, and it makes a world of difference for stability. I just ordered the standard bullhide 1.5 inch and went ahead and added the stiffener in there for extra stability. Works great and it's a very nice-looking belt to boot.

My custom GS Tuckable holster by HBE Leatherworks is fantastic as well -- very comfortable -- but the comfort level increased a lot with the belt. No more sagging. In other words, Don't skimp on the belt!

For all those still in the waiting room, I wish you luck and hope your wait ends soon. In the meantime, my seat's now vacant. Have at it.

Wise words! A friend of mine who has been carrying for years recommended getting a good quality belt, and I can't stress that strong enough as well. It's the foundation of a good concealment system.
