Waiting on CHL

Post by ericsu19 »

I have been waiting patiantly for my CHL I have been tracking online and have been in the processing stage since 4/16/08.
I have received no letters of any kind for any delays. After sending a e-mail I did get a response early this week that is was in the background stage. Ha s anyone had any experiance of delay letters or problems this fae into the process. I am a new member but have been tracking the forum for several weeks. I am glad to find this sight and have learned through everyones experinces thanks for all the good helpful information.

You might want to take a quick look at the "Waiting Room" section. Lots of good info. Not so much good news, but lots of comfort in knowing you're not alone.

Sorry if you've been there already and didn't find what you are looking for but if you haven't, give it a try.

The fact that they gave you an update that you were in the background stage should be taken as a good sign. It means your application was accepted as complete and it probably means your fingerprints are good to go.

I think they are about 90-95 days average right now, so I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you.

I wouldn't plan on being able to carry by the 4th, and to tell you the truth, I probably wouldn't call until about July 14th. At that point, you'll probably be getting fairly close. If you don't have it by July 21st, a letter or e-mail to your local representative would be in order.

You're definitely not alone. If anything, I'm suprised you got an actual update that had information in it. From the sounds of it, most people are just getting a form letter saying that they are processing their application.

Good luck and stay safe out there!

I feel no comfort, just crowded. I just passed 110 days, still waitin' for the BI to come back. I've emailed and called and got no explanation except that everything seems to be in order. If I conducted my business in the same fashion, I'd be outa work. The DPS has a real problem here, and it seems nobody there is doing anything about it. It took the DIA less time to complete a Special Background Investigation for my Top Secret security clearance. I'm going to Austin in a couple o' weeks, and if I don't have my license by then they're gonna hear about it face-to-face.
