CrossBreed Holsters
Based on the recommendations from members on this sight, I just ordered the Super Tuck delux. I did the horsehide with j clips. I want to make sure I understood the part about gun fit. I have a Glock G26 G19 and G17. If I read the sight correctly, the supertuck for the Glock 9mm fits all three Glock models. It makes sense that it would as the main difference in the three lies in the barrel length. If the holster is open at the end, it seems any of these three would fit wit the 17 extending out the end of the holster longer than the 19 and so on.
Did I read that right?

Can't answer your question about the Glocks.
But I just got (and haven't yet worn) the Super Tuck Deluxe in horsehide for my Hi-Powers.
He assured me that the same holster would fit my .40 S&W's, 9mm's, and my FM Detective.
Out of curiosity, did you go with the full combat grip?
I chose not to, even though I know how important it can be. The following statement worried me.

I've definitely got overhang and I need leather between me and gun. I can always have it trimmed later, if I choose to.SuperTuck Options
1) Combat Grip.... The Combat Grip is where we trim away some of the leather from the holster
backer. This allows a firmer grasp on the gun during the draw stroke.
This modification does sacrifice a little bit of comfort but does increase the draw speed.
This is an extra cost option because this cut is made to follow the countour of the slide/grip of the
individual firearm and varies from one gun to another.

Mike 1951,
My thought process on the combat grip was exactly as yours. I too am weight challenged
and I was concerned about it digging into a fat roll....LOL. I thought like you did that after I get the holster I can trim it if I feel the need.

Probably (I can't speak to the specific holster but) this is generally true and the site told you that.03Lightningrocks wrote:Based on the recommendations from members on this sight, I just ordered the Super Tuck delux. I have similar Glocks in the same caliber/frame (different from yours, mine are .45s) and it works out so far in various holsters. When buying my Kydex OWB I told the crafter who was selling it to me, and he claimed that was important as he would "set it up for both" but I have never been able to see or understand a difference due to that.
So, I think you are wise to confirm but really believe very strongly you will have no problem.

Re: CrossBreed Holsters
I carry my XD40 subcompact (3") in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I also used it to hold my XD9 service (4") and XD9 tactical (5") for many IDPA matches. The bottom end is open so there's no issue with the barrel lengths.
I did my own "combat cut" before Crossbreed offered a combat cut. Since I was using the holster for IDPA, I found out that sometimes your thumb will hit the top edge of the leather backing. If you're practicing your draw in front of a mirror and you're doing the exact same motion over and over again, you may not have a problem. But in IDPA, you are drawing in all different stances and that's when I found the problem. I did not notice any discomfort from the new shape. My side is rounded and the pistol is flat. The leather backing follows the contour of my body and the pistol does not dig into my fat.
The beauty of the Supertuck is that you can trim the leather yourself. *You* make it fit *you* and not leave it to the holster maker to decided what fits you. As you can see, I've tailored mine a bit already. It's not pretty but it works -- for me, for my body and for my carry style. I can't imagine taking a razor blade to one of those $150 holsters that require a 10-week wait. I would probably just live with the one-size-fits-all shape if I spent that much on a pretty holster.

For reference, here's the original shape.

Re: CrossBreed Holsters
Thanks for all the input. I did mention on the order form that I was hoping to be able to use the same holster for all three of my Glocks. Sometimes....ugly is pretty
. I actually like the look of these holsters. I'm not a real fancy sort of guy.

They work pretty good but I had to air out mine for a few days to get rid of a rancid smell.

LOL...that reminds me of the time I spilled skunk scent on my hunting boots. I hope it's not as bad as that was.

Re: CrossBreed Holsters
I’m an extra large person and can't say enough about the Super Tuck Deluxe standard cut (horsehide). In its standard shape with the XD-40 Sub, the horsehide folds over the back of the gun just a bit, Simi-locking the gun in the holster, (like a thumb lock) unless I draw it, it stays put. After wearing it around here to break it in, it has conformed to my body shape and the shape of the gun against the leather and fits like a glove now. I adjusted the retention as per the instructions to just a bit tighter all around and now have a nice Snug feel when the gun is inserted or drawn, and it stays in position in the waistband. I broke a "snap" clip, and all it took to get a replacement is a phone call to them and it was in the mail USPS first-class. Dialing the number took longer than getting the clips on the way. And what arrived was a "complete set" of new "snap" clips, screws, blind nuts, and rubber washers, thumbs up CrossBreed! Great service after the sale.

Reading this kind of review makes me look forward to receiving mine. They said it is about three to four weeks out.XDpackinBob wrote:I’m an extra large person and can't say enough about the Super Tuck Deluxe standard cut (horsehide).
