What I've learned in my first 60 days

Well, I'm coming up to my first 60 days and during this time, I have read and read and read every bit of CHL and Pistol related I could get my hands on. Hell, I have even read the "Ladies Only" forum here (I broke the rules ) looking for information for my wife. One thing I have noticed is that EVERYONE is passionate about what they believe in (not this board per se, but on the net in general). And after seeing all of this, I have learned one thing.

No matter what kind of gun I have, it sucks!

Now, of course I say this jokingly but after seeing "Glock's are the best..." and "1911's are the only way to go", I could quite possibly put myself in the poor house trying to "keep up with the Jones'". I'll just need to learn to be happy with what I have.

Well, I hope I am past my halfway point and I have my plastic in hand soon.

Looks like three of yours will do just fine.

I would rather not rely on the .25acp, though. But as a backup (BUG), it might do all right.

Don't try to keep up with the Joneses. Go with what feels good and works for you.

I'd suggest keeping my eyes open for a bargain on a J-frame S&W to one day replace the Rossi.

As a rule, you're better off to spend the funds on ammo and practice more or take some classes.

Well I am the type of person who does a lot of research before buying anything, and knowing full well how unpopular they are I went ahead and bought a Sigma anyway.

I am not a non-conformist. But I weigh others' opinions and decide for myself.

So I am with you on having a gun that sucks. But I like it. Certainly that's because I'm a noob and I don't know what I am talking about.

So to add to your wisdom (hey I'm just past 40 days, not a 60-day vet yet), I would say, not only does whatever gun you have suck, but also, whatever method of carrying you plan to use, it's wrong. Whatever holster you get, it also sucks.

But I'll add this corollary:

whatever [insert thing here] you have, it sucks, unless you have something very expensive, in which case, it doesn't suck but you paid too much for it.

Sigmas are decent handguns, but i'd consul anyone looking at a Sigma to check out the M&P first.

As long as it goes bang when you pull the trigger, it's a whole lot better than being unarmed. I'm sure there are some people who think I'm an idiot for using a Walther, but at least my wife thinks it's pretty

I had a Sigma, and the difficult trigger pull was the reason why I sold it. If you like it, more power to you.
