Reprsentitive Charlie Gonzalez

Post by pbwalker »

Has anyone been able to contact him? I've tried twice now and I never hear back. What kind of recourse do we have if they never respond?

You do know he is a U.S. Representative, not a Texas house representative? He is F rated by the NRA-TSRA.

Your recourses if he doesn't communicate is to write a critical letter to the editor and support and vote for someone else.

I think in general the ratings get re-done and published just prior to elections. For the NRA you can start here:

http://www.nrapvf.org/

which has the following pronouncement:
Candidate grades and endorsements for the 2008 General Elections will be available in the Fall. In the meantime, if you have questions about where a Primary candidate stands on our Right to Keep and Bear Arms, please call NRA-ILA's Grassroots division at 800-392-8683 or click here to contact us by email.
For candidate grades and endorsements in previous election cycles, please visit the NRA Members section by clicking here. (You will need your member ID to login.)
And you do have your member ID handy, right, because you are a NRA member, right?

As for TSRA, I know they email out links to their ratings just prior to elections. Last time the ratings were on the tsrapac.com website -- there don't appear to be any posted right now, but if you call or email TSRA I am sure they will help you out with any questions, since you are a member of TSRA too, right? Right?

I suggest you contact Mr. Gonzalez via a "pink slip" at the next available election.

Best wishes,

I feel like a complete moron now...It just dawned on me that he was Fed and not state...geesh...no wonder he is not answering my emails. I came back here to try to delete this thread before anyone replied...oops. :)

And since he's an 'F', he's no good to us anyways...

You can find your Texas representative and senator by poking around http://www.state.tx.us. There is a page where you can enter your ZIP code and get the information.

Quite a few representatives are lame ducks at the moment and may or may not help you.
