Del Fatti Leather (Shoulder Holster)

Post by Sly Dog »

Sometimes a person will hear allot of "hype" about one thing or the other. I usually figured it was just that....HYPE. I had read about Del Fatti leather for several years, and always figured it was no better than any other gun leather. That is until I actually received one from him, and tried it out. I found out it wasn't hype, but the real thing.

I know lots of folks do not like the idea of shoulder holsters. I have tried to carry a concealed handgun in about everyway there is to carry one, and have not found anything that quite suited me like a shoulder holster. During summer time I admit it can be a little too hot for a shoulder rig, especially if you wear a t-shirt under the should rig like I do, and during those really hot months I use a pocket holster and small revolver in my front pocket.

There's not a gun board on the internet where the word "Del Fatti" doesn't show up at one time or another, especially if holsters are talked about.

I have used an Alessi shoulder holster for a long time, and admit that it suited me perfectly, and still does. I consider Alessi top quality, and it is very well made. However after receiving this Del Fatti shoulder rig, I will say I have never seen such quality and comfort from a shoulder rig. I highly recommend Del Fatti as a source of handgun leather.

For those that prefer belt holsters, I have seen two of Del Fatti's belt holsters and the quality of those were remarkable to say the least. I think Mr. Carlton on this site may also use at least one Del Fatti.

I would personally rate Del Fatti's leather as a 10, on a scale from 1-10. His waiting list is almost unbearable, but worth it when the leather finally shows up.

If I remember correct Del Fatti is about a 1.5 to 2 year wait. I think the wait on a Lou Alessi shoulder rig is around 6 months. Alessi makes a nice shoulder rig also.

This is what an Alessi SH looks like:

I think you've got your sight inserts reversed... it's supposed to be red to port, green to starboard. ;-)
