This burns me as well lunchbox. But I would like to know how many people on this forum would go to jail on the principle of not having to identify themselves. These police did overstep their boundaries, but come on. Why go to jail?

Cowardice in the general population is exactly the reason why tyranny is getting a toehold in our nation. Unpatriotic citizens who will fearfully sit by and do nothing while evil men triumph in destroying our form of government. :mad5

Typical cops. And they wonder why we don't embrace them.

Don't even try to flame me. This occurs 10,000 times/day in this country.

Regardless of the circumstances, I'm not sure that cop bashing is ever a suitable topic within a gun forum. There are individuals who are ill-suited for their role within every group type, including gun owners. Just look at some of the 'My Story' postings within this forum and you'll see there are some folks who have no business carrying guns, similar to how there are some police, doctors, truck drivers, etc. who should be in another line of work.
it's socially unacceptable to be ahead of your time.

I don't think they're typical cops at all. On the contrary, they are quite atypical.

:iagree:

Absolutely NOT typical!

And the posters assertion that all LEO are this way clearly violates the rule on this forum to NOT "Bash LEO" in a general sense.

It is allowed here to intelligently discuss the actions of individuals for which we have a disagreement. It is NOT allowed for us to "bash" cops as a whole. To do so...is both intellectually dishonest and immature IMO.

What I find incomprehensible is that some people feel that acting like an excited idiot during a traffic stop is either an appropriate or useful way to protest laws they don't agree with. Seriously...That lady needed to grow up. Police checkpoints are legal in most states. Don't like them? Take it up with your representatives, or if you're determined to be arrested (and some protesters are) take the arrest peacefully, like an adult, and then fight it through the courts. It worked for Heller. It's worked to stop checkpoints in Texas since 1994. The lady in the video didn't do anyone any good, didn't advance any cause, other than a perhaps a campaign to make a fool out of herself.

I'd bet anything that if you knew these two cops, personally, you'd say they're not like that either. If I knew them, too, I'd probably agree with you.

What occurs 10,000 times a day? Cops doing their jobs, despite having to deal with agitated uncooperative wannabe armchair lawyers? Yeah, that probably does happen 10,000 times a day. All I can say is that my hat's off to them. I know I'd have a rough time putting up with it.

And I'm sorry for the people like those who funded Dick Heller's lawsuit, and the folks who kill the legalization of police checkpoints in every Texas legislative session, people who've worked hard to truly deserve the title "champion of constitutional rights" when they have their achievements minimized and sullied by others who are willing to associate any blundering crackpot with them, as if they were equals.

The woman is an idiot, all she had to do was show them her license and she would have been on her way. The cops are mostly doing their jobs, though they are misinformed about certain topics, the woman is automatically considered part of a clan or militia because of some books she was reading. HA!

The question is, why was the road block there? If it was for no reason then I would say this is leaning toward a police state.

As for the guy at the end, i would say that is complete bull! that's uncalled for, he was unarmed. ( from what I can see in the video )

From the narration, it sounded like he may have been claiming he had a bomb. Impossible to tell without more details on the situation.
