I know the anti's won't see it like the, but you would think the above story would even justify the "need" for teachers to carry even more so.

The Taser has gotten some negative press lately, but it clearly saved this man's life. Base on the report it appears to me that the officer would have been justified in using deadly force...
With a red dot from the Taser trained on the man's chest, the man dropped the bat but pulled up his shirt and reached for the holstered gun. The officer fired the Taser and pulled out his own gun, keeping the electricity flowing because the man, who had fallen to the ground, kept trying to reach for the gun, the report said.

As time passes, perhaps we will learn that this man's intent was to commit "suicide by cop". It has been done many times.

Unless something passed that I don't know about, campus-carry has failed everywhere it has been introduced, except in Utah. Opposition to pro-carry legislation has never been based upon honest fact-based concerns. This type of incident is tailor-made for the alarmist tactics used by the Brady Campaign and Texans Against Gun Violence. There's no way for us to use this incident to help the cause for campus carry. It has nothing to do with logic, it's purely politics.KBCraig wrote:Chas., you're not usually a "glass half empty" kind of guy, so I hope you'll realize that this guy proves yet again how ineffective laws are at keeping illegally carried guns off campus, and this is why law-abiding citizens should be able to defend themselves on campus!Charles L. Just when the media is focusing on concealed carry on campus and the north Texas school district allowing teachers and staff to be armed, this idiot gives the opposition something to point at. Yes, he's a nut and he's probably not a CHL, but this is publicity we absolutely don't need! Passing campus carry will be very difficult and we don't need this loon making the job harder.

Until Florida, everyone knew that shall-issue concealed carry laws would never pass.Charles L. Of course it's ugly: it's politics. The comparison to sausage-making is an insult to wurst everywhere. That doesn't mean there's no way to use it; we just use it despite the Brady attempts to misuse it, and point out how utterly wrong they are.Opposition to pro-carry legislation has never been based upon honest fact-based concerns.
