Any Austin Members

Post by stash »

Would someone from Austin who has been to the Driskill Hotel tell me if it is posted 3006. I don't live in Austin so I can't check it out myself. Texas3006.com was negative. My wife and some friends are planning on going there for thanksgiving dinner. Thanks - Stan

EDIT: I reread your post, and moved my response to a new thread.

You are talking about just going to eat at the Driskill restaurant, right?

When are you visiting? I will see if I can swing by there sometime this week and let you know.

EDIT: would be nice if I would read your post again and realize that you were coming for Thanksgiving. I'll stop by before then and let you know. :thumbs2:

Yes sir - just to eat mr.72. If I had my druthers I would just stay home and watch the "Boys" (don't know why really) on the tele but that is what they all want to do.

NcongruNT - I really appreciate you doing that for me.

Thanks - Stan

Bringing the issue to their attention just might guarantee that a 30.06 sign will be posted, if one is not already there.

The subtle approach may be better in this case.

I should have noted I've been to the restaurant before -- pre CHL though so I wasn't really looking for the signs. I don't recall seeing them. Besides that I would not recommend eating there. I think it was around $150 for me and my date. This was without any wine. Maybe you like weird exotic food but it wasn't for me. The ox tail was ok though I suppose. The servings were so small I left still hungry.

axtgun - you are right about the price. We found out yesterday that want 150 bucks a couple for a Thanksgiving brunch/lunch. Looks like we are going to be staying a home this year and in keeping with the spirit of the holiday we will probably be having turkey hotdogs while we watch the "Boys"on TV.

NcongruNt - thank you for offering to run by the place and see if they are posted but it won't be necessary now.

No problem. I was going to head down there tomorrow and check it on the way back from work, since it's on the way. I seriously doubt the place is posted, as it's a favorite of legislators, and we have a lot who are pro-carry. That, and compliant sign would seriously affect the decor of the place.
