New to CHL. Question

I am new to CHL. Actually waiting for confirmation from DPS so I can send in my application. Finished class.

I know that a home owner or business owner can openly carry on their premises, but can they carry concealed on their premises without the CHL? or does it have to be open?

I apologize if this is a question that should be obvious or has been answered before.

Thanks so much. That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. I'm not looking forward to the 4 month license wait, so wanted to be able to do what I can do until then.
