No, growing old is not for sissys. Do you feel like a Junior Member? Good luck with your maturation, AH.Bunkins wrote:Bunch of old farts in here huh?Thats about 20 yrs before my time. If ya didnt feel old before... Do ya now?
Re: Where were you 45 years ago today?

I get along with "older" people much better than I do with anyone anywhere near my age group, ( all of my hunting buddies are in there 50's lol ) so I know whatcha old farts have to offer

Mike1951, I'm sure your right about that, in 95% of the situations

Anywho, sorry for getting off topic, I couldn't resist.. JFK, 45 yrs ago.... That would have made my parents 11-12 yrs old.

I wasn't even a gleam in my daddy's eye yet. He was still in high school.

I was in an 8th grade history class. Some of the teachers were crying, most weren't. The reaction from the students would make you believe they had lost parents at the Bay of Pigs.

You'd be surprised at what was gleaming in Daddy's eyes back in the day in a Texas high school.

My Mom told me and my older sister while we were home eating lunch. We were living in Lubbock. We walked back to Christ The King school after lunch.
I had a test right after lunch and was wondering why all of the girls were crying. The test was not that difficult.
It was a history test. At that time I did not understand the irony of it all.

I hope nothing was gleaming in my daddy's eye in high school ... he went to a all boys school ....

Actually we were about 100 yards away at the time. My parents kept me out of school to go see him. He had already passed us when it happened.
