Priming Tools
I just went back to my Lee handheld Auto Prime after unsucessfully trying the Auto Prime 2 on my Lee Classic single stage. It always jammed my shell-holder with 2 primers at the same time as well as seating them unevenly in the primer pocket. I just never could get it to work effiently to where I could trust it. I also have the Lee Safety Prime and haven't been too impressed with it either-plastic and kind of flimsy-looking. Are there any better alternatives out there? What are you guys using that works? RCBS, Dillon, Hornady, etc? Thanks in advance.

Re: Priming Tools
On the Dillon press, I use the built in priming tool, but for the single stage press I generally use a Hornady hand priming tool:

It works well, but I had to grind down the bushings that the shell holder sits on in order for them to fit in the tool. Maybe Hornady brand shell holders will fit; I don't know, I think mine are all RCBS or Lee.

Re: Priming Tools
I have both the Lee and RCBS hand primer tools.
The Lee Is cheap junk - had lots of problems with it.
The RCBS is great - never had any problems with it.
Do yourself a favor and get the RCBS.

Re: Priming Tools
I think the Lee hand prime is hard to beat. The Lee prime on the press setup is a little slow, and hard to get a good feel for primer seat depth, so I use the hand prime. Lee has another setup for priming on press where the case is place on top of the press. Lee Prime II?
RCBS has 2 hand prime, one uses universal case holders, the other doesn't.
RCBS APS primer is supposed to be the safest.

I have always used the Lee hand primer. I guess you don't know what you are missing if you don't know. I have never had a problem with my Lee.
