BE CAREFUL in the ICE!
One of my coworkers just died in an accident last night in the ice, so for G-ds sake, BE CAREFUL out there.

Re: BE CAREFUL in the ICE!
Sorry to hear about the loss Nitrogen. The ice is pretty bad. Will say prayers for the family and friends.
Also, be very careful about carrying and walking. If you fall on your carry rig, it may not go off, but it will possibly do more damage to your body.

Sorry. I am Houston-centric so that never occurred to me.

This is not just north TX, but Central TX too...
Around Austin, ice is the biggest bugaboo for winter weather. We have a little bit here today. Any more precip and it will be very bad. Doesn't look like the temp is getting above 31 any time soon so whatever rain falls will freeze pretty quickly.
It's a terrible driving hazard, much worse than snow or sleet. But even worse is how ice builds up on tree branches that break and fall on power lines causing lots of power outages. Here's a great reason to have a fire place, gas burner in the fire place, and keep some firewood on hand. Oh yeah, and even though it might be raining and freezing cold, you can still cook out on the BBQ grill!

Sorry to hear about the bad news..
Ice is bad stuff. Driving on snow isn't bad at all. But on ice, your just along for the ride, if it decides to buck you off there is nothing you can do but hold on. We get ice storms around here every once in a while, with no snow at all. It makes a ghost town out of the city, even me being a thrill seeker, I know to keep my butt at home during a ice storm. If you cant walk on it, dont even think about driving on it. It can snow 6 inchs, but the snow that fell first tends to melt a little bit on roadways, then freeze back up.. You can find traction on the snow, but the snow that has blown away or whatever, leaving nothing but ice on the road ( bridges, intersections are prime examples ), your done for, and you cant tell the difference between the 2, or if you can it's to late to do anything about it..

Sorry to hear of your loss Sir. Be warm guys and gals and please do not brake on icy bridges. Take your time and be defensive watching for others around your car.
