Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DUI

The adult niece of a Galveston County sheriff deputy allegedly took his county-owned vehicle for a joyride Friday and crashed at the intersection of Highway 6 and FM 1764 in Santa Fe. She was booked on charges of driving while intoxicated, unauthorized use of a vehicle and impersonating a peace officer.

Hopefully this will be the proverbial hitting bottom and/or wake-up call.

I happened to drive past the scene of this crash while they were mopping up. I noted the unusual number of police cars from various jurisdictions, but I had no idea what had happened.
