Stainless GI Length 1911 Guide Rods!

Post by AEA »

Tired of having that Blued or Parked G.I. Style Guide Rod in your Stainless 1911 Pistol?

I was trying to find Stainless ones a few weeks ago and had no luck.
Yesterday I received my new Brownells #4 (1911) Catalog and right there on the 1st page (new items) is Stainless ones from EGW.

Here are the Brownell's part numbers for ya:
G.I. Style Guide Rod (EGW 1911 Auto)
296-000-113 1911 S/S GOVT. RECOIL SPRING GUIDE - 21.95
296-000-114 1911 S/S COMMANDER RECOIL SPRING GUIDE - 21.95

A bit pricey but they are solid Stainless Steel (not hollow).

So, no longer do I have to see that Blue or Black Guide rod when I disassemble my Stainless Pistol. That may seem a bit anal to some, but it really bothered me........ :thumbs2:

My pleasure Charles.
Like you, I had given up!

Then there it was on the 1st page of the Cat and jumped right out at me.
I ordered several of each in case they disappear again...... :smilelol5:

UPDATE.....

Got them today and boy....what a QUALITY product!

I installed one in my Wilson Protector and my Ed Brown Kobra Carry.

I also installed one in my Colt XSE Lightweight Commander.

Heck, I even installed one in my Parked Springer! After all, the barrel is stainless and the stainless guide rod looks like it belongs there!

NOTE: ALL my 1911's that originally came with FLGR's have been modified to original Browning Spec's with GI Style Guides and Plugs.

Thanks WB.......

But they are really nice. Solid (no holes) and the ends are rounded correctly.

Oh, they are finished properly (not rough like cast stuff) and yes, they are shiny!
