What do you guys recommend one work on at the range. Shooting off hand, one hand, double hand?
What are some things you do to make yourself a more accurate and precise shooter at the range.
We can't draw at mine, so that's out, but what else could I be working on?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

I practice breathing. Your breathing can have a big effect on your trigger control.
I also practice "point" shooting. Either from the hip or with the gun just in front of me but too low to use the sights.
I can keep all 8 rounds from my 1911 in center of mass on a standard silhouette target at 15 feet when drawing and shooting from the hip as fast as I can pull the trigger. It took quite a bit of practice.

Could maybe elaborate in a bit of a how-to on what you think to focus in on. I like learning different methods, because it not only helps me perfect my own shooting, but also gives me new ways to explain it to other people that are trying to learn. Thanks!txinvestigator wrote: Practice malfunction drills.
Any recommendations? Something local? Ayoob?txinvestigator wrote: Find some advanced classes to get in. ;)

Sure. A common cause of malfunctions is an improperly seated mag. Often a round does not get chambered. Set this up with a loaded mag but empty chamber. Practice coming up and pulling the trigger. Gun goes click. You immedeiately slap the bottom of the magazine to insure proer seating, rack the slide, then fire. Commonly called tap, rack, bang. I prefer slap, rack and bang.gigag04 wrote:Could maybe elaborate in a bit of a how-to on what you think to focus in on. Or set up a stovepipe and practice clearing it and getting back in the fight.
Set up a double feed and practice clearing that.
