Lou Alessi

John Ralston of 5-Shot Leather has just posted on 1911 forum that Lou Alessi has passed away from his cancer.
Conceal Carry gear industry has lost a Master Craftsman & super good guy from all who knew him.

I knew Lew was sick, but I thought he was getting better. In fact, I had read that he was home and getting stronger.
I'm sorry for his family's loss and as LT said, we've all lost a master craftsman and a gentleman.

I also had heard he was back in the shop 1/2 day. I would not have posted this coming from just anyone. John Ralston worked for him, was a personal friend & his statement has always been that he learned his craft from Lou.
I have never owned any 5-Shot leather but have seen it & he learned from the best for sure.

Sad news, indeed. RIP

I had an e-conversation w/ Lou. I sooo wanted a CQC/S, but he didn't have the mold for my pistol. He was very gracious in answering my questions. His postings as a moderator on the 1911 forum were always insightful. A true loss to the shooting community.

RIP Mr. Alessi. Your work will stand the test of time as classics of the holstermakers art.
