Actually she can be trusted, but trusted to do what it takes to forward her agenda. She isn't against an AWB, She would love an AWB, but she doesn't want to forward it at this time. She has a united front to push forward her socialist agenda with practically no opposition, she understands that. Once the AWB genie is let out of the bag there will be some Democratic desertions. Party loyalty could cost house seats. That doesn't mean that Pelosi doesn't see an AWB in our future, its just that she wants to chose the time and place of her battles. I suspect that she will be more willing to take on the gunshow loopholes before another go round with the AWB.
:iagree:
Wait till the mid term elections are over and watch her start crawdaddin. She knows what it would cost in relation to votes to bring up any anti gun legislation right now. Dont trust her. Especially when she starts quoting the NRA. :mad5

Thanks Keith. We all need to realize that we need to be a UNITED front against this kind of legislating. We can disagree with each other and do it civilly. Remember, we are all on the same team. :txflag:

So guess what..... it has started and the new administration is doing exactly what we expected. So now just like one of the other posters noted, the Republican party is broken and is the problem. We need to concentrate on fixing our party and get back on the track of conservitism so we can combat this socalist administration. If we don't fix it soon and get everyone on the train, it will be too far gone.

:iagree: ...
Makes me wonder if a 'North American Union' isnt on Holders agenda. Mexican cartels dont come to America to buy full auto AKs and M4s. When was the last time anyone on this board walked into Collectors Arms, Gander Mntn, BPS, Academy, etc and saw a full auto weapon for sale? How about RPGs or hand grenades? Why would they go to the trouble to come here for them when they can get them from the likes of Cuba or any other third world country? But because "at a minimum" it would help mexico, law abiding American Citizens should give up our right to buy SPORTING weapons? Note that I didnt say 'assault' weapons, as that is not what a legal semi automatic firearm is.

I have to take that back. I did see an old MG42 for sale somewhere, but the price was well above what any of us could afford, not to mention all the legal stuff you would have to deal with, but I still cant see the cartels coming here and spending that much money when they can get all they want from cuba at a fraction of the price.

I really dont there are as many standing behind them as they think there are. The problem is, they are up there in DC with their heads in the sand and have lost touch not only with the average Joe, but also with reality itself. They think they are all untouchable, and the people who put them in office will be there for them regardless of the damage they do. In short, they have forgotten who they work for, and the only way for us to send them a reminder is in the voting booth.

Then again, there are those who just look to see if there is an R or a D behind the name and vote accordingly. :mad5

I wish I knew how to pressure these elected people to do what we sent them to do and to honor our constitution. I know it will be hard to turn this around. We need to learn from the libs, they do a great job of getting the word out and demonstrating and showing up at the right time. I realize that the reason they are good at this is because most of them are not working anyway. We just need to be willing ourselves to step up and work and encourage all others in our influence to do the same.

Pelosi said "no" because the timing isn't right. They don't want that fight now, the ground is not fertile enough at this time.

The current administration is full of people that would rid us of most of our firearms at the drop of the hat. This isn't a statement based on some imaginary premise, it is based on their history. Do a search on Rahm Emanuel and Guns or Eric Holder and Guns or any one of a dozen people associated with the existing power structure.

This issue will be raised again, and it will be raised in their time when they believe that it suits them and when they believe that they have the best chance of enacting more strict gun laws. This issue has not gone away, it is merely taking a nap.

I just saw on Fox News don't remember who it was saying that the AWB is planned on being brought back into effect in the near future.

That is about as vague of a pronouncement as I ever saw. Some essential information is missing.
who said it? Does that pesron have any authority. Any real insight is it White House or Congress? Who is planning it ?(We all know black gun enthusiast have been planning for months now).
What context.. is it campaigning rhetoric? or Pelosi laying down ground work.
When? what is the near future?
All of this doesn't change the fact that right now the votes don't seem to be there. A month from now who knows.
