That did make me think though. This meeting was at a restaurant and we were in a private room but would raising your hand in that situation constitute "failure to conceal" by just disclosing the fact that your were carrying?

Several CHLers outted today!
I was at my local Republican Liberty Caucus meeting today and someone was plugging opencarry.org and talking about how he wanted to arm every citizen to the teeth and how he was chl. Then someone else interjected with his hand up and laughingly asked "how many guns in this room right now?" I laughed when i saw the number of hands that raised. It was probably close to 10 or so out of 25-30.

Re: Several CHLers outted today!
Nope.
Think about it........you were not asked by an LEO........
Any number of people could have raised their hands and not been armed.
Most likely though, more were armed than raised their hands.
In either case, no weapon was displayed and no proof that anyone was armed was presented.

Yes it was. Hopefully you can make it next month, same time and place. It was a really good meeting. We had several candidates come and speak. Sam Osemene who is running for Austin City Council place 6 gave an excellent speech. He'll be speaking again at Opal Divine's on South Congress during the ChangeAustin candidate forum today from 4-6.Kalrog wrote:Was this at Bagpipes? Lisa Malory is running for Leander ISD school board. You should really check her out. I've worked with her in the political arena for about a year and can vouch for her being a liberty loving constitutional patriot.
A Texans for Accountable Government rep also let us know a public forum on the 30th with police chief Acevedo regarding "VampireCops" program -- seeking a federal grant to get officers trained as phlembotomists so they can forcefully withdraw blood from DUI suspects. This is a pretty bad trampling of the 4th & the 5th.

I met Sam last year at a RLC thing downtown.atxgun wrote:Yes it was. Hopefully you can make it next month, same time and place. It was a really good meeting. We had several candidates come and speak. So am I. I'm running for place 2 while she is running for place 1. So we could both be elected if things work out well. Lisa and I have already been in contact - feel free to holler at me if you have any questions! I ran with Brian Martin last year (again, different places).atxgun wrote:Lisa Malory is running for Leander ISD school board. You should really check her out. My biggest issue with the Travis RLC is that I am in WilCo and outside of Austin. Everything that happened at the past meetings I have attended were focused (rightly so) on those areas - which kinda leaves me to twiddle my thumbs and hope something makes it out my way (Leander). But PLEASE - anything you can do to get the word out would be appreciated.
Re: Several CHLers outted today!
If they had asked 'how many gun owners' I would have raised my hand.
But if someone asks me if I'm currently carrying a gun (non-LEO, non-wife) my answer would always be no. That's just my personal preference. I understand it's nice to be around like minded folks, but I prefer to keep such information to myself.
