The folks in the Denver suburb of Greenwood Village hired an animal control specialist to hunt down coyotes that have started going after pets, and in at least one case, people. I saw one bounding across Dove Road the other night here in Grapevine, but the officials around here might frown on me going after it with the Bushmaster. Here's a little excerpt and link to the NY Times article:

Wonder what will happen when one of those coyotes takes their advances as a challenge or threat? I mean, that's how dog's challenge each other isn't it? Barking at each other? So here's an idea, let's go out and sneak up on a wild animal that has sharp teeth and an instinct to kill, not to mention a diminished fear of humans, and challenge his turf. WOW, that's the SMARTEST idea all year!tfrazier wrote:Ms. Rosmarino and dozens of volunteers have fanned out across Greenwood Village to protect coyotes from Mr. Stewart’s gun by trying to instill a fear of humans through shouting and other techniques.[/url]
