Make sure you're plugging your info. into the correct spot on that page. It's real easy to plug it into the instructor section by accident.

I put it in the right spot. I called DPS and the receptionist (I guess) typed my info into
her computer and told me I would have to speak to legal. I have a Class A Misd. on my
record, but that was 8yrs ago. According to my CHL instructor I am in the clear. I know its
only been 22 days, but I want to make sure everything is ok and not get a letter in the mail
60 days from now stating there is a problem.

Did you disclose the misdemeanor on the application and send along paperwork showing the date of conviction and that it was more than 5 years prior? I would assume your instructor advised to do that. Not disclosing a prior violation is not a good thing.

Also, hopefully it was not a misdemeanor involving family violence, as that is a dis-qualifier period.

I disclosed the misdemeanor and sent in a copy of the judgement. The conviction was Deadly Conduct for an accidental firearm discharge in my home in 2001. I was told that as long as it wasnt a domestic violence conviction I was elligable.
