Downtown Houston many moons ago, a guy rolling a flat, as well as than can be done...approaches me and begs for some money to help him get it fixed. I knew it was a scam, but thought it so entertaining I gave him a few bucks.
I saw him the next day - rolling his tire.

Someone asked me for 80 cents yesterday in San Antonio at the River Center Mall (at least I think that's its name, right on the River Walk).
I told him I was totally broke, which I was at the time.
