It is a browser by Google similar to Internet Explorer. It contains a lot of content that you may not like, such as harvesting sites you visit, etc........

You gotta realize that Google is a business based on information and advertising......

If they are gonna give you something for free, you can be assured that it has something to do with their bottom line......

I agree with the above assessment of Chrome, don't go there.

If you want a VERY powerful free browser, Firefox is the way to go:

I couldn't disagree more. I'm a Linux user and have used Firefox for years, but Chrome is by far the fastest and most secure browser I've used in a long time. I love the dns caching. Either one, Firefox or Chrome, beats the snot out of IE IMO.

It takes about 40 seconds to install, and is just as easy to uninstall if you decide you don't like it.

Here's a link to some opinions on the advantages/disadvantages of Google Chrome:

Chrome has some nice features that I wish firefox had but I really don't like it.

I really like being able to drag a tab off the bar and have it open in a new window, but I'm sure theirs a firefox extension for that.

I don't know of anyone who actually uses it more than a few times over firefox.

Are you using Chrome on Linux??? I've been waiting for a Linux version of Chrome since it was released for Windows a long time ago. If you have it, let me know where I can get it!

I have been using Chrome since it came out.

For whatever reason I had a ton of problems with Firefox crashing. No problems with Chrome.

I wish I was, but no, no Chrome for Linux yet. I use Chrome at work on my corporate PCs where I am forced by the evil overlords to use Redmond's nefarious crufty operating system.

I am an unapologetic Microsoft basher.
