BINGO. I am 22, grew up driving on the farm, and until last year, had never had even the slightest fender bender.surprise_i'm_armed wrote: A bad side effect of the red light cameras is that motorists are so afraid

The city of College Station installed 4 red light cameras. I was at an intersection which had NO camera. The light turns yellow, and someone who may or may not have been an illegal (they didn't speak english) panic stops in the middle of the intersection on the yellow. They were past the pedestrian cross walk and still tried to stop. This surprised me enough my own panic stop was slightly delayed, and while the hit was light enough no air bags were deployed and no one was injured, I of course received the ticket.
No doubt this illegal heard about the red light cameras and didn't want to get in trouble with the law.
Improved safety, didn't they?
