The Bullet Trap-Plano

Post by Luggo1 »

I had some time to kill and stopped by. Nice shop, lots of inventory, range, etc...

However, I noticed they had 2,000 Federal SP Primers...I need some. They are in the corner, you have to ask to get them. When I asked how much? $99.99 per 1000

I need them but not that bad. They also had some 231, which I also needed but not for $28.99/pound.

I guess they could have paid say $79.99 per thousand primers...but I kinda doubt it, and 231 isn't that scarce, it can still be had for $16.99/pound.

I figure I'm naive, but this was shocking...

Dang that is insane. I have been checking in on them weekly to see if they have primers. I am going to stop checking on them.

They are a great place to shoot and have good specials, like lady's night $5, and family night (up to 4 people in a lane for price of 1) but that is just flat out gouging.

I too have some primers on back order from Cabela's and Graf's. I think I'll leave it that way.

I don't want to totally trash them, for instance they had basically a reasonable gun store price on say a Glock 17, so it wasn't everything. However the primers were beyond the pale. The powder was extremely high too. If they can sell them at that price then more power to them, I can't and won't pay it though.

I agree that all in all they are a pretty good place to go. I shoot there regularly. I'm just marking them off the list of places to check for reloading components. I noticed the same thing with their powder, but gun masters wasn't any cheaper.
