Drug war guns came from Houston

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Drug war guns came from Houston

Post by Lodge2004 »

I'm conflicted on this.

On the one hand, I'm very pleased the government is pursuing straw-purchasers. It does nobody any good if someone is illegally supplying arms to gangs in Mexico. Enforcing existing laws does work.

On the other hand, it's extremely frustrating to know the left is salivating at how they can use this type of incident to support future restrictions against law abiding citizens. When you enforce the law and law breakers get caught, there will invariably be somebody screaming "we must do more...for the children" in order to grab more power.

Someone once said, 'there is nothing new under the sun'.

If the laws existing on the books had been rigorously enforced with strict penalties all along (pre-Obama), these sort of articles would be back page news. :banghead:
