Post by CHLSteve »

Looks like details are still thin. I hope no one here was involved.

Police: Man who shot carjacker had permit
An alleged carjacker was shot and killed in north Houston Saturday morning, police said.

At about 6:15 a.m., witnesses pulled Darryl Milton Franklin Jr., 37, out of a car that he was reportedly breaking into in the 1100 block of Langwick Drive.

As they waited for police to arrive, witnesses saw him attempt to break into other vehicles and even try to commit a carjacking, authorities said.

Franklin attacked a man who approached him. The man, who was carrying a permitted concealed weapon, shot Franklin, said Houston Police spokesman Victor Senties.

The shooting is being investigated by the District Attorney’s Office and will likely be referred to a grand jury, Senties said.

Thanks for the post. I have some family and friends who live in that general area of Houston. Have already forwarded the news link to them.

Perhaps, but there is a lot said in a few words.
Franklin attacked a man who approached him. The man, who was carrying a permitted concealed weapon, shot Franklin, said Houston Police spokesman Victor Senties.
It looks like the BG actually mounted an attack against the good guy. This looks like it will be a legally justified shoot.
The GG doesn't seem to have spent any time in jail. (no mention of arrest) The police and The Chronicle are being respectful of the GoodGuys privacy.

It also looks like the GG didn't say a whole lot about the incident ;-)

All in all a pretty good and fair job by the press

:iagree: it will certainly be to his advantage if he does.

I was thinking the same thing Liberty posted about it sounding like the BG attacked the GG, also, it seems that there were several witness there who saw what happen.

With no mention of an arrest I hope this one will turn out okay for the GG.

Wow, the BG was breaking into cars at 6:15am.

At least he had a good work ethic.
