mmmm.... babyback ribs..
i hope to BBQ..well..grill really..on the 4th. but as the sun beats down on the back porch , not so sure .

one thing i do look forward to on the 4th is my buddy a couple doors down always brings out his cannon
that he made in his machine shop. its solid brass with about a 1 and a half inch bore.
when that thing goes off ,you can feel the ground shake under your feet.
of course since we're in a subdivision, he only packs it with wadded paper instead of the steel balls .
but it still makes a statement .

..God bless America.. :patriot:

It is so hot that:

the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
the potatoes cook underground, and all you have to do to have lunch is to pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
the cows are giving evaporated milk.
the trees are whistling for the dogs.
you eat hot chilies to cool your mouth off.
you can make instant sun tea.
you learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron.
the temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly.
hot water now comes out of both taps.
your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
you realize that asphalt has a liquid state.

We have been letting our older cat in the house due to the heat. He is normally allowed only outdoors and in the garage due to his bizarre and socially-unacceptable behaviors.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

It only got to 97 out here in the flats. But 30% humidity wipes out us desert folk. We just don't do "balmy".
Ø resist
