LCP + Kel Tec clip = perfect summer carry

Post by mr.72 »

I know everyone is going to hassle me about the unguarded trigger.

but to be able to clip this thing inside the waist band of a pair of board shorts is where it's at.

You have any photos? I'd like to see how this set up works. Is the clip removable fairly easily? I pocket carry my LCP 100% now, but this would be a good solution for things like jogging shorts etc that can sag dramatically (and noticeably) from pocket carry.

the clip is removable with an allen screw. You replace the rear frame pin with a metal pin that is threaded on one side so you can attach the clip. I don't have any pictures but if you look at pictures of a Kel-Tec P3AT with the clip you should see how it works.

The clip is not big enough to likely affect whether you can pocket-carry it without removing the clip first. But for me, the clip makes it far more handy for the intended purpose. If I am wearing a belt or any of the pants I have with a pocket big enough to support a gun, then I can carry my Kahr. But in other cases, this is perfect.

Can it be fitted for left hand carry?

sweet, I was wondering if the clip would fit the LCP.

It looks and mounts on the LCP just like on the P3AT?

FYI, LCP owners, I removed the clip from mine and noticed it made a teeny dent/scratch in the frame (less than 1mm long) along the edge where the clip contacts the frame. Since mine will have a clip permanently, I don't mind it. But you might bend the bottom edge of the clip's little flange before you put it on, just in case. It appears that the shape of the LCP frame in this area is ever so slightly different than a P3AT.
