Time to shift from incomplete back to processing?

Post by CDH »

So how long is normal after you send in the requested info for your status to return from 'incomplete-letter sent' back to 'processing application'?

After over a month passed from when I sent in the requested form, and 3 emails asking about status (without satisfaction, just "I'll forward your email to the person processing your application"), I resent the info (thankfully I had kept a copy) twice more, once by fax and once again by snail mail. My status returned to processing in 3 days after that. I'm reasoning that my first submission of the updated form was lost somehow and that is would have been a while (if ever) for me to know about it... :mad5

Soooo, I guess the lesson is to check and if you don't see your status update after a reasonable time, send it again!?!?!? I don't know what is a reasonable time, but 4-5 weeks is far too long IMO. There appears to be no reasonable way to check to see if they actually received your additional paperwork without undue hassle and time passing. In my case I appear to have lost my chance to have my CHL for the summer, when I could most use it (traveling to unfamiliar areas). :grumble :grumble :grumble

I recieved the letter on a saturday.
Send the requested information on monday.

Was back to 'processing application' on the following monday. May have changed earlier, didn't check.

So for me, it was < 1 week.
