April App Crew Unite!!! v. Beer Thread etc.

Post by btm7687 »

So guys...obeying forum rules...let's start a random discussion thread.

Starting with what's your favorite beer? As posted in the other thread, right now I prefer Paulaner Hefeweizen. I spent a summer in Germany and had Franziskaner Hefeweizen on tap there and the Paulaner is the closest taste I can find to it. For dark beer I prefer Mackeson XXX Stout, and for cheap light beer if I must drink it, I'll take Icehouse or Keystone Light.

So what do you guys prefer?

I'll drink anything but Coors.

Much appreciated guys and apologies for anyone who saw that...I guess I should brush up on forum rules again. I follow so many forums these days I can't keep which rules straight for which forum

So back on topic...or offtopic, what do you guys prefer for beer? I know you (usa1) prefer margaritas, which I already responded about Cabo to. Or on that topic, how about preferred vacation locations too?

That is very true. One of my favorite places I discovered because my grandmother lives in Carson City, NV. That place would be Lake Tahoe. If I could retire there I would. Absolutely beautiful scenery; the mountains, lake, community. That said, having visited Italy, Switzerland, France, England, and Germany, I must say Italy and Germany are two beautiful countries. I would love to go back to Italy again, but I agree; there are many destinations I would love to visit here in the US. Finally went to Chicago a couple years ago, but I've never been to the Grand Canyon, NYC, Cali, and probably many more places I can't list right now

Yum. I spent almost seven years in Germany, and any of the Hefeweizens -- or their next door cousins, like Hoegaarden, are way up on my preferred beverage list.

That's what I love about the Tap Room here in San Marcos.... Hoegaarden. along with 60+ beers from around the world. :thumbs2:

I'm a HUGE fan of Paulaner, Franziskaner, Spaten, etc...!

Love Hefeweizen, excellent stuff! Hoegaarden is also very good!

Went to Germany for two weeks in '07, I had always been a fan of German beers, but WOW, nothing like having them IN Germany! My absolute favorite is Paulaner Hefe-Weizen Dunkel, on tap. It has an amazing flavor, a hint of banana.

I was fortunate enough to attend Oktoberfest in Munich, TOO MUCH FUN! The Paulaner Beergarden was my favorite.

Prost!

Thought you might enjoy a picture of me enjoying a Maß at the Paulauner Beergarden at Oktoberfest:

Our Frau, yes, she carried ALL of them!

Last week in Chicago I found a nice patio and a good beer selection, and cigar-friendly to boot!

Yes, Schlitz, on tap!
