Gun Phrases...

Post by longhorn_92 »

As always... I have a tendency to make a fool of myself... As we make mistakes - we say that "I have shot myself in the foot"...

Therefore, I have shot myself in the foot on this one...

I also am a big fan of The Christmas Story..."You'll shoot your eye out, kid"...

What other phrases have you heard of in the past...or even currently use today?....

There are probably hundreds of them. There was a not-so-recent thread on this.

Some of the older ones are:
Lock Stock and Barrel.
Keep your powder dry.
This situation could be a powder keg.
He jumped the gun.

A shot in the dark
I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
