The Drum Major, two tuba players, and one flute player can't be at the picnic today.
They are in Afghanistan on other business.

Re: Semper Fi
Noticed in a TV commercial that the drill team is still using M-1 Garands. Properly 'loosened' they make an impressive 'clack' when shifted to a new position.
I suppose it would be difficult to twirl an M16.
Year, I was on the drill team for a while in the early '60s. You have any idea how long it takes to spit shine a bayonet? Switched over to the 1st platoon of the Honor Guard. Spend two summers on the USMC Rifle Team, and picked up a few hunks of 14k. In the old days, the gold medals were really gold.
Spent the last year with HMX-1, the presidential helicopter squadron.
When I got out, I had 75 pairs of white gloves. It takes 7 or 8 pairs to put your uniform together properly.

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.
