I didn't want to hijack Russell's thread about Johnny Cash and Hurt, so I created this one. I am a big fan of covers. It's rare to find a good one, but when I do, it's like hearing the song for the first time. Any other fans of cover tunes? Which ones?
To start it off, I'll submit one...
The band, Ween, covers 'All Of My Love' by Led Zeppelin. It is one of the best covers I have ever heard. Ranks right up there with The Bangles and their cover of 'Hazy Shade of Winter' by Simon and Garfunkle. Ween nails it in my opinion. You'd never know it wasn't a live Zep show...

Re: Covers
That was a good cover.
I can't say this one will necessarily contribute much, but it has been stuck in my head all day, and since this thread just happened to start up today, I thought I'd share. It's a cover of "Dance of the Knights" from Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet. It has a very halloween-like sound to me - and really reminds me of something else, but I can't figure it out. The intro lasts about 45 seconds, I'd skip past it...
I can't say I'd recommend any other music by this group to the forum (unless you like EBM music and it's various offshoots); their sound is described as "power-noise" on wikipedia, which I guess is somewhat accurate. This just struck me as particularly unique.
