Mall Kiosk Lease not renewed over Anti-Obama items

A kiosk has had its lease not renewed due to the politically incorrect nature of the items that it sells (Anti-Obama amongst others). The kiosk was located in the Concord Mills Mall (Sound Familiar) and is owned by the The Simon Company (prop. Mel Simon), Progressive, Pro-Obama, Democratic supporter...

For my part, I have chosen to;

- Stop shopping @ Grapevine Mills
- email The Simon Company about my decision
- post this here and other places to raise awareness
- generally take any opportunity to mention this to other shoppers

If your concerned about where this country is headed, you should read the article, review the link and do a bit of research on Mel Simon. I think when you are done, you'll decide to take whatever action you can in an effort to influence the blatantly political actions of the the Simon Company.

I stopped shopping at the 'Mill's Malls' when I got my CHL and found they posted 30.06 signs. :smash: I have tried talking my wife and daughter out of shopping there, but no luck. At least they don't shop there a lot and I get to go to Bass Pro while there are in the mall. :lol:

Why on earth would they? This is private property and a private dispute.

The mall is free to not renew the lease, just as the kiosk owner is free to go somewhere else.
I am free to not provide custom to their mall.

Is there a contradiction in terms here or is it just me?

I don't shop at the Mills malls either due to their 30.06 signs. Besides, I can get better deals elsewhere.

Not saying they should, but the ACLU has certainly gotten involved in disputes on private property before...

Personally I agree with you. They're welcome to say whatever they want on their property. I'm welcome to not buy any of their stuff if I don't want to. :thumbs2:

The owner of the NC kiosk supposedly has a website--www.freemarketwarrior.com. I haven't been able to access the website, but did find an article that the kiosk's sales have skyrocketed since the story first broke--maybe the website is suffering from too many hits. It would be simply wonderful if the little company would enjoy lots of sales and profits after the way they were treated by Simon Properties.

The mall is owned by The Simon Co., etc., not the business leasing the kiosk.
