460 XVR load and results

Anyone else here loading for the 460?

After checking local shops and on-line sources, I decided I could not afford to shoot this treasure of a gun without reloading for it. So on-line I went, securing powder, brass and bullets for the workups.

I have been doing load workups for mine for a couple of weeks now.

So far - best accuracy with 240gr Hornady XTP-MAG bullets, Remington Large Rifle Magnum primers, 48.1gr of W296
Hardest hitting (hold on tight!) 300gr Hornady XTP-MAG bullets, Remington Large rifle magnum primers, 42.5gr W296

Anyone else loading this? What powders and bullets are you using? I want to get the best load possible before hunting season starts!

I'd love to know what velocities you're getting outta that thing. I'm sure with that full barrel, it's probably getting all the potential from the powder charge!
