it was a last minute thing .
the first 50 rds through it were at the shooting portion of the class .
fortunately , the gun performed flawlessly , but the night before the class, it was worrying me a little .

Not necessarily, although we'll have to get the actual word from USA1.
He used to have some brand of .380. Currently his carry is a Taurus PT-145.

Re: carrying a gun before shooting it
That is done quite easily one handed by wedging the gun on the inside of the strongside knee and compressing.he was an amputee , so he was unable to rack a slide back
Re: carrying a gun before shooting it
Or snatch the slide's rear sight to strong side of said belt and push down will work.

Impossible. If you shoot yourself in the leg, you're automatically disqualified for CHL.pbwalker wrote:

Did you carry this one before your shot it???longtooth wrote:Not exactly the best way to do it but if you need one I say it would be better to have it than nothing.
Make sure it is clean & oiled. Get some practice ammo ASAP & to the range soon as you have the opportunity.
I have done it, I confess. BUT the only time was the Nork I just bought from HV & he had already verified it reliable to my satisfaction.

Never trust unproven equipment with your life even if it is something as reliable as a glock
It is easier to get an airport security clearance than a CHL

Re: carrying a gun before shooting it
All guns are paper weights in my eyes until they've proven to be functional and reliable at the range. I will not even carry a gun after cleaning it until it's been test fired again. I rotate carry guns.
Range session involving carry gun(s), clean gun, next range session, test fire previously cleaned gun and assuming it's functioning normally, it goes back in the carry rotation.

I am scared of empty guns and keep mine loaded at all times. The family knows the guns are loaded and treats them with respect. Loaded guns cause few accidents; empty guns kill people every year. -Elmer Keith. 1961
