I checked out that website....I'm in. I agree something has to change but not the new stuff thats comming out of D.C. right now.
And whats the deal, I have plenty of guns but cant get ammo and the last time I got some 40 cal I was asked for ID and had to sign. That sure sounds like catalogging to me, but what do I know, just another dumb redneck hick from TX.

Might does not make right. The argument that states rights and secession were decided with the war is bogus. All the war proved is that the federal government is willing to conduct illegal acts to maintain their power. The fact they were able to put it down in no way solved the issue of the constitutionality of secession.

Perhaps in lieu of a Republican or Democrat party we need a Constitution-party. I guess that would simply be Libertarianism taken to an extreme.

ATF is a federal law enforcement agency. If a legal issue arises between them and a state government, the issue will have to be decided in the federal court system. The ATF does not have the authority to arbitrarily overrule the state.

I wish I shared your optimism. I really think that most of the American people would just bend over and take it.

I don't think the Americans will take it, unless it's a Republican in the White House, in which case they will happily surrender all their liberties.

Witness the town hall meetings of late. People don't mind tyranny, as long as it's THEIR GUY who is the tyrant.

As for me personally, after watching the last 4 years of the W2 administration and the Republican "wet noodles" in DC and Austin that are supposed to be representing the values of their constituency, and then watching the abysmal effort from the Republicans during the recent election, I am determined to help clean house, starting on my side of the aisle. I have to believe that most of the conservative base feels the same. Get rid of the non-representing representatives and hit the reset button with representatives who are serious about upholding the values of their constituency...this includes the White House.

I'm curious how many Dems feel the same way about who is representing them.

It's noteworthy that most Dems vigorously argued against fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, but once their guy was in office, all anti-war protesting fell almost completely silent. Hypocrites.

Bingo. As far as I can tell, both sides only seem to make issues of things to gain power. Once they have it, all bets are off. I'd love for a strong 3rd party to arise. The only good thing about the Republicans is the Dems are worse. They seem to be okay with the same things, as long as they go slower then the dems propose.
